11.11.11….November 11th, 2011….11/11/11….11 Nov 2011…There are so many different ways to put this date. It so clearly reminds me of 7.7.07, 8.8.08, 9.9.09 and so on.....
Only this year in Honolulu 11.11.11 is competing with one of the largest conferences the city has faced in quite some time. The APEC Leaders meeting is this week in Honolulu and will have one of its peak days on November 11th. Usually everyone sells out on these types of dates already, but this is beyond sellout for most of my vendors.
With this in mind, my fabulous couple for this date was forced to venture out of Waikiki and find a more secluded venue. Manoa here we come! This works for them and fits their style well. Most of my vendors have been fabulous to work with as usual, but there are a few that have thrown a curveball or two and forced me to think on my feet (one with a double booking that gave us the boot)! No worries, because we worked our tails off finding a solution without stressing the bride just one week before she says “I do”!
My suggestions for you 12.12.12 brides out there! Book early! And by early….I mean EARLY. Most vendors and venues will let you secure them anywhere from 12 to 16 months in advance. December 12th, 2012 is a weekday, so it won’t be as crazy, but if you want a good deal and don’t want to pay half the price, start now!
I know we will have another great wedding on Friday and I will update you on the 11.11.11 fun with photos following the weekend!

Missy and Jeff's Wedding
I had a great time working with Missy and Jeff on their wedding. What a great couple from Canada that had their Destination Wedding in Hawaii. The main goal of this wedding was to make sure a good time was had by ALL! Design was modern Hawaiian in the colors of black and fuchsia with a splash of orange.
We started with a simple beach ceremony at Waialae Beach Park where custom paddle program fans were passed out to each guest.
Cocktail hour and the dinner reception were at one of our favorite hotels (Hilton Hawaiian Village) in the Rainbow Suite. We love this room because it provides indoor and outdoor access with glass doors on three sides!
Thanks to all my wonderful vendors who helped make this so fabulous! All photos by Picture This!
Guests were greeted in a simple but fun lounge with a photobooth for the cocktail hour. After dinner the wall opened up and the space was used for the dancing portion.
On of my favorite touches was the cake server in the shape of a high heel. The pink heel was magnetic and removable during use. Bride and groom used this to serve the cake. Totally great!
